Witch Hats weigh in new single
Thu 18th Oct, 2007 in Local News
Melbourne four-piece noise purveyors of sludge infested punk noise Witch Hats unleash their CD single Before I Weigh, this month. It’s the first taste off their upcoming album Cellulite Soul slated for 2008 release via In-Fidelity Recordings.
Witch Hats have spent a few years exploring the hidden sonic beauty that lies within dark punk terrain. Before I Weigh heralds a highly anticipated return to their fans via a national tour.
Recorded under the watchful eye of Phill Calvert ( ex-drummer from The Birthday Party, Psychedelic Furs ) and Ben Ling, and recorded at Atlantis Studios, Before I Weigh is a delicate balance between mind shattering noise and sweet grinding melody. A blend of rumbling, dirty bass and jangly guitars, vocals that plead, shriek and howl, and hypnotic drums, Before I Weigh is delivered like a ferocious shot of nitrous oxide to the eardrum.
Witch Hats’ debut EP Wound of a Little Horse left audiences across the world mesmerised. Before I Weigh shows the best is yet to come.
