Ivy League’s favourite sons, Peabody will be packing the van and chuffing off around the country to show off their crankin’ new single The Devil for Sympathy.

The Sydney indie outfit will be showing their wares to punters up and down the East Coast this October and November. The Devil for Sympathy marks the band’s first single from their forthcoming album Prospero and will be released with four extra tracks.

Taking a leaf from acts such as Brian Jonestown Massacre and Blonde Redhead – the band have given popular culture a nudge with the track sinking their teeth into the Stones’ iconic track and coming up trumps.

This tour and single will also mark the first offering by the band’s new, four-piece line-up. After long-time drummer and friend Graeme Trewin decided to trade the high life of pub rock for domestic bliss, Peabody re-grouped and broadened their focus with drummer Jared Harrison (from Sydney’s avant-rockers Bluebottle Kiss) and guitarist Tristan Courtney-Prior both adding colour and depth to the new Peabody sound.
