The Mess Hall had a relatively quiet 2006 in Australia. Jed and Cec played the odd show around the country building on the success of their 2005 Notes From A Ceiling album and spent quite a bit of time in the USA and UK playing with pals Wolfmother plus shows with Wilco and The Rogers’ Sisters, all the while with an eye and thought cast forward to the writing of new material.

The past 12 months have seen The Mess Hall go to ground in their home base of Sydney writing and recording what has become the Devils Elbow album; surely one of the most hotly anticipated Australian releases of the year.

The duo self-financed the recording of the album and roped in friend Burke Reid of Gerling to handle the producer’s duties and a brief label war was fought before The Mess Hall joined forces with Ivy League whose attitude and vision reflected the band’s own.

Now with the deal done and Devils Elbow due for release on Saturday 27th of October, The Mess Hall is pleased to announce a run of shows to celebrate.

Guests at all shows are Perth’s The Silents (except Adelaide and Canberra). Tickets on sale from Monday 24th September.
