Downsyde back in the saddle
Fri 21st Sep, 2007 in Local News
Perth hip-hop legends Downsyde will return to their roots next month when they play a month-long Saturday night residency at the Hyde Park Hotel.
Over the past years, the rap collective have built a reputation as one of the nation’s premier hip-hop acts both live and on record, with 2003 album Land of the Giants breaking them onto the national scene. They’ve shared the stage with all kinds of names in rock, dance and hip-hop, playing Big Day Out, Southbound, Rock-it and Good Vibrations and supporting acts like Jurassic 5, Grandmaster Flash and Black Eyed Peas.
And while they may be accustomed to playing on huge stages to huge crowd, they’ll be squeezing their live act into the Hydey’s front room, previewing tracks from their upcoming album release at four shows on October 6, 13, 20 and 27.
Downsyde’s Back in the Saddle October residency:
Saturday October 6: With Hunter, Dazastah
Saturday October 13: With DJ Armee vs Lstreet (Homebrews)
Saturday October 20: With Funkola
Saturday October 27: With Tomahawk (Clandestein), Layla
Tickets for all shows at $10 at the door.
