SXSW and beyond

With submissions and deadlines looming for some of next year’s key music events around the globe, AUSTRADE has put its grunt behind the music industry to serve up a series of free seminars in all capital cities.

The seminars give bands and managers an overview of SxSW, CMW, Midem, NACA, NxNE, CMJ, and the Folk Alliance and why they are relevant for local bands.

Hear first-hand accounts of these key music events from industry insiders. Get the latest update on grants, activities and other practical support at these music marketplaces. Learn how to pitch your band to SxSW, what to submit, and when to submit it.

Receive up-to-date advice about the visa process for the United States, including timelines, costs and contacts to help you with your application.
Network with other bands, labels, publishers and managers.

Speakers:
The Australian Music Office’s Tony George has been leading Australia’s efforts in the music industry over the last two years on the ground in LA and across the United States. Tony will present his view on the key events across North America and how to make it happen for your music business in the USA.
Immedia’s Phil Tripp has insight into SxSW like few others as their agent in Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii. He will share his unique views on how SxSW can work for you.
Ron Zeelens, a US immigration specialist for the entertainment industry will also be joining us from New York City to help you better understand the process and requirements of the O and P visas for artists.
