Welcome home The Nation Blue
Thu 13th Sep, 2007 in Local News
After a huge sell-out show in April, The Nation Blue will once again rock out at The Tote on Saturday October 13 to celebrate their safe return to the country.
Behind the very successful release of the band’s third album, Protest Songs last March, and a headlining national tour full of the unexpected (police shut-downs, noise complaints and injuries – to name a few) Melbourne favourites The Nation Blue headed straight overseas to try their luck elsewhere.
They returned with stories of nude streaks through Tokyo, successfully avoiding machine gun fire from a Favela raid by military police and breaking Danzig’s fence! These are acts that could have possibly result in deportation, or at the least a punch in the guts from Danzig. But of course, not for The Nation Blue. They survived with only a few scratches.
Supporting The Nation Blue at their – œwelcome back’ show will be Midnight Woolf (featuring Raul Sanchez from Magic Dirt), The Currency (featuring Travis Demsey – ex-member of The Living End) and the first show for the Delta Reds (an all-star beat, punk, rock and metal lineup featuring members of Cockfight Shootout, Jed Whitey, The Blacklist and The Abandonment).
With this powering lineup, and the experiences of The Nation Blue’s travels behind them, this show is definitely not to be missed.
Saturday October 13 – The Tote
Tickets are available from The Tote Front Bar on (03) 9419 5320
Protest Songs is available through Casadeldisco Records.
