UNKLE ’s key instigator, James Lavelle, was recently in town on a whistle-stop DJ tour, and he took some time out of his schedule to talk with inthemix. During the chat – which was filmed for a series of video interviews that will stream in ITM-TV very soon – Lavelle waxed lyrical on his outspoken nature and habit for ruffling feathers, and also left us with some rather juicy details of UNKLE’s planned return in 2008 early for a full live tour.
“Hopefully we’re coming back to tour in January, we will be here sooner rather than later,” he said. “We definitely want to get the band here, so there’s talk about doing a certain festival January. We’ll see what happens.”
Rumours have been circulating of late that the new UNKLE live show would make their live debut in Australia for the Big Day Out tour next year and following Lavelle’s comments to inthemix one would hope that it’s more than just idle speculation. As always, stay tuned to FasterLouder for more details as they come to hand, and keep an eye out for the interviews on ITM-TV over the coming weeks!
