Trial Kennedy record in the US
Sat 8th Sep, 2007 in Local News
Melbourne is characterised by innovation, art and music. It’s not surprising then, that emerging from Victoria’s music scene is undoubtedly one of Australia’s newly revered acts: Trial Kennedy. Intense, enthralling, and above all entertaining live, their debut album is sure to be on the tips of everybody’s tongues.
Having established themselves in Melbourne, released three EPs – Present for a Day, Picture Frame, and Birds and the Bees split with Horsell Common – the band caught a break when they were sought after by recording master Nick Didia (best known for his work with Powderfinger, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Incubus and Bruce Springsteen, just to name a few). Didia heard the band’s album demos and approached them to produce, record and mix their debut album at the large and famed recording studio in Atlanta – Southern Tracks.
A new initiative while at Southern Tracks over the next month is to keep fans in touch with up to the minute information by granting access – œinto’ the studio. Trial Kennedy is filming video diaries about recording in the studio, working with Nick Didia, thoughts on the upcoming album, and life in Atlanta. Trial Kennedy will be regularly adding to their video studio blog and Myspace page, where fans can anticipate exclusive previews of some of the new tracks to come. Attentive to their fans as ever, it goes without saying that the band will continue to personally answer messages through their Myspace and keep the information flowing with regular updates and posts.
With such a supportive fan base, experience and guidance in production of their debut record, and self determination from the boys from Melbourne, they are soon to be no longer – œon trial’ and a much more permanent fixture on the Australian music scene.
Trial Kennedy’s debut album is set for release in March 2008.
