Ivy League Records have announced their signing of Sydney five-piece, Bridezilla.

Undoubtedly one of the most exciting acts in the country, Bridezilla have been mesmerising Sydney audiences over the past year with a sound that is all their own and a maturity that belies their age.

Their sound is delivered with the unusual line-up of drums ( Josh Bush), guitar ( Pia May), violin ( Daisy Tulley) and saxophone ( Millie Hall), and augmented by the alternately breathy and growling vocals of Holiday Carmen-Sparks, collectively steering the music away from standard reference points and into a completely unique sphere.

While cues are taken from such luminaries as The Velvet Underground and Dirty Three and nods sent in the direction of jazz and folk, Bridezilla have forged their own sound – they are like nothing else you’ll hear right now.

It has been, and continues to be, a rapid rise for Bridezilla. Their breathtaking show, as well as radio support from Fbi for one of their demos, has led the band to support slots with the likes of Midlake, Mercy Arms and Youth Group. They also recently appeared on MTV’s The Lair, while Rolling Stone touted them on the cover of their September issue, and named them as ones to watch.

Now, the time has finally arrived for Bridezilla to let their music escape into the ether. Their debut EP is currently having the finishing touches applied to it by Scott Horscroft at BJB Studios in Sydney, and it’ll be released on Ivy League Records in November this year.
