Chill out at Chill Island
Thu 6th Sep, 2007 in Local News
Chill Island is proud to present an incredible array of sounds, offering music fans a unique and memorable spring escape in one of the most beautiful outdoor locations in Australia.
Picture it – rolling green hills, deep blue ocean views of Westernport Bay, and the sweet summer sounds of some of the finest singer/songwriters going around.
It’s an event that, like no other, offers some of our countries most respected artists the opportunity to present a fabulous line up, personally hand picked by them. Much loved Melbourne songstress Clare Bowditch is the first artist to curate Chill Island and her line-up for the November event is exceptional. Paul Kelly, Gotye and Ben Kweller Trio (USA) have now been confirmed and opening the show will be four of Clare Bowditch’s favourite emerging artists – Hot Little Hands featuring Feeding Set member Tim Harvey, beat laden Brazilian influenced percussion group Tumbarumbaba, beautiful singer-songwriter duo Jesse and Emily Lubitz in Tinpan Orange and folk singer-songwriter Emma Tonkin.
Chill Island is a laid-back, family friendly, one-day music event on Churchill Island, on the Sunday of the Melbourne Cup long weekend in November, 2007.
