Falls Festival - SaturdayNight Fever
Sun 26th Aug, 2007 in Local News
You’ve seen the first line-up and you’re already counting the days ‘til Falls Festival unfolds – now you’ve another reason to make your way to the festival early, with a swag of fun unfolding for early bird punters on Saturday night (Dec 29) – Groove Armada, anyone?
Not only will you – œbeat the rush’ and set up camp a day earlier, but you’ll also be privy to the outrageously good entertainment! Lorne will enjoy the funky pop’n’dance maestros Groove Armada (UK) who shall perform at Lorne on the 29th (and only on the 29th for Vic) bringing with them a 12 piece band!!; alongside the rock’n’roll lashings offered by Magic Dirt; the sweet’n’soulful croons of Sarah Blasko; and the great, hairy and clever mastermind collaboration of Harry Angus (you may know him from somewhere else!), and Jan Skubiszewski’s, Jackson Jackson with more acts for the 29th soon to be announced!!
If that’s not reason enough to pack your tent and pegs and sleeping bag and head to the festival early – then don’t forget the Falls Art Festival will be returning again this year featuring an array of artists, music, food stalls and festivities for your aural, auditory and visual pleasures alike.
But wait – like a ginzu knife set – there’s more! Having just returned from a huge road-trip through the European Festivals is, Feetbus (a bus like no other)! Run on human power, going to wherever you are – from the coffee shop to the nearest toilet, from one Village Venue to another, from dancing the tango to the Bustop (Vic & Tas); the Lovely Ladies from The Caravan Of Love return to Lorne Falls after a year away with a brand new show about shoes… (and sex), songs, games, seriously funny shtick (Vic only); the undisputed runaway hit of the Melbourne Comedy Festival and returning from a monster Northern American tour, Die Rotten Punkte are brother sister Teutonic pop with a tendency to tantrums and on stage food fights (Tas only).
Tickets for the – œSaturday Night Fever’ festivities on the 29th of December will go on sale at the same time as full festival tickets via the website only. You cannot purchase this ticket by itself.
