Wed 22nd Aug, 2007 in Local News
The Wave Rock Weekender is back for 2007, taking place on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend from Saturday September 29 to Monday October 1 and offering an all-star lineup of local national and international talent.
Indie-folk songstres Mia Dyson will be lining up for the fest, bringing her Struck Down album tour to Hyden for the Saturday night. Also on the festival’s opening night you’ll get to see The Drones and Snowman, whose national tour will wind its way to Wave Rock before the two bands head back out together.
Alongside Snowman Abbe May and the Rockin’ Pneumonia and Little Organ Trio will represent the best of WA talent while Katalyst, CW Stoneking, Hermitude, Rocco Deluca, Grace Barb & Sound Sista, Earthlink Sound System, Whitley, Jess McAvoy, Dallas Frasca, Sunshine Brothers and Day of the Dead are also set to appear.
The festival gets underway with a live telecast of the AFL grand final and continues for two days with some of the best local talent around. The capacity is limited to a cosy 800 and, as well as camping, punters will be treated to a 24 hour cinema program and a six-metre deep therapeutic salt water pond.
