Miles Away: Rewind Repeat Tour

Success may come to those who wait but for a circle of friends from
Perth, Western Australia, scene ambition was less than a remote
thought. Wanting to recreate a sound that was absent in Australian
hardcore, these friends were more concerned with paying homage to the likes of Minor Threat , The Descendents and Count Me Out than
grovelling at the feet of scene success. Little did they realise that
they weren’t just igniting the spark that would bridge the gap
between Australian hardcore’s east and west, but one that would
quench many an international thirst.

Since forming in 2003, Miles Away have achieved prolifically. In four
years they have toured Australia, USA, Canada and Japan, released two demos, two EPs, a split CD and two full-length albums and have been signed to one of America’s most prominent hardcore labels, Bridge
Nine Records. Not just an accomplishment for the spawn of a barely
burgeoned hardcore scene, but one for Australian hardcore en bloc.

In June, Miles Away unleashed their most vigilantly crafted release
to date: Rewind, Repeat… . Having established a sound that is as much their own as it is an homage to their seminal influences, this full-
length album follows the angst-ridden Consequences and couples it
with the melody and speed of earlier material. Executed with maturity
that only a rigorous schedule of touring, performing and recording
can deliver, Miles Away offer a proverbial outlet to express the
frustration and solitude imposed by their middle class existence.
Arguably Perth’s most outstanding hardcore record to date, Rewind,
Repeat…
unites the voices of those who endure the bleak suburban
landscape with a powerful conduit – a dynamic array of hardcore anthems.

Having appeared at Hardcore 2007 Festival in July, Miles Away are
back out on the road in the coming weeks on the Rewind Repeat Tour,
