Operator Please have cancelled their scheduled appearances with UK band Maximo Park, citing illness to vocalist Amandah Wilkinson as the reason for the last-minute withdrawal.

After supporting Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs on recent Australian tours as well as a national tour of their own, the five-date tour with Maximo Park was set to be the ideal launching pad for Operator Please’s upcoming UK visit – including slots at the Reading and Leeds festivals and a place on the NME tour with The Go! Team.

The Maximo Park tour kicks off tonight at The Zoo in Brisbane before hitting Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth later in the week. Psychedelic indie four-piece The Silents have been confirmed to replace Operator Please at Sunday’s (August 19) sold-out show at Perth’s Club Capitol. Check your local guides for more details.
