Angie Hart new album and tour

Fans of the former Frente band member, Angie Hart, will be pleased with news of the chanteuse’s pending CD release. Since Frente went its separate ways Hart has been tooling about with various bands but it’s finally time to go solo and Hart’s signed on the dotted line with ABC Music to release her first long player Grounded Bird.

The album has been produced by Justyn Pilbrow – the guitarist in New Zealand band Elemeno P – and features co-writes with like minded musical souls such as Ben Lee, Dan Luscombe (The Drones), Craig Ross (Texan producer/writer with Patty Griffin, Daniel Johnston, Spoon and others).

“It’s pretty raw and simplistic, this record,’’ says Angie. – œ’It’s small and intimate. But the images in it are the things that fell straight out of my subconscious”. She’s interested in the human condition, in limitation and transformation. She’s also interested in spiritual matters, in the way the mind works individually and collectively. “When you boil it right down,’’ says Angie, – œ’all my songs are about relationships in some way, whether they’re dark and sad or uplifting”.
