Cease, our very own aficionados of all things noise, will release debut EP Coelacanth this weekend with a launch gig at the Bakery in Northbridge.

If you’ve been to any gigs of the noise or experimental sort in the past 12 months, chances are you’ve been amazed/shocked/baffled by Cease’s stage show, which involves little in the way of convention. Coelacanth is made up of material recorded last year and, if their live shows are anything to go by, you can expect a strong cocktail of Kyuss, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and a bit of cross dressing for good measure.

The launch gig takes place at the Artrage Bakery this Friday night (August 10) and features support from the irresistible Sex Panther, Mink Mussel Creek, Hexagon Halfblood and bitpoppers Okioki. Copies of the Coelecanth EP will be available on the night.
