Weather gets better of yetanother UK festival

Wales’ inaugural Fflam Festival has been called off, after organisers postponed the event due to Britain’s recent summer downpour. Originally due to take place on July 13-15 in Swansea, organisers were unable to reschedule, forcing the first Fflam to be completely cancelled.
With Keane, Manic Street Preachers and Placebo due to headline the festival’s three days, Fflam was set up to provide Wales with an equivalent to the likes of Reading, Leeds and T in the Park. But after floods that swamped much of England’s south and Wales, it remains to be seen whether a Fflam will ever take place.
The announcement comes within days of Lodestar organisers cancelling the Cambridgeshire gig. Set to feature Badly Drawn Boy and Idlewild, the continued threat of a washout and poor ticket sales were responsible for the decision.
And these aren’t the only cases. Around the UK, the rain has done its best to ruin every festival out there. Bristol’s Ashton Court Festival suffered a major loss after being forced to cancel its second say, while the Obelisk Arena at Latitude, near Ipswich, became an open air stage after the big top was blown down. Punters leaving Glastonbury and Glade festivals also had a hard time, stranded onsite while tractors pulled thousands of cars from the mire.
