Ringo Starr joins the digitalworld

Ringo Starr is the latest act to go digital, with the news that the ex-Beatle’s Capitol/EMI catalogue will soon be available for download. Albums like Beacoups of Blues, Sentimental Journey, Ringo and Goodnight Vienna will be available online to all the existing digital music service that carry EMI content on August 28. A collection of six ringtones will also be available.
Starr joins fellow ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, who released his entire solo catalogue online earlier this year. McCartney also included for digital download his new album Memory Almost Full.
Further speculation has been raised due to Starr’s move to the digital world that the highly anticipated Beatles catalog will be released for digital release. In a previous interview with Billboard McCartney said that a deal was ‘virtually settled’.
