There’s one thing I’ve found since starting at FasterLouder is the sheer breadth of announcements coming through on my trusty email system. I receive a stash of tid-bits, e-cards and news-bites each week which has prompted the creation of this weekly metal mish-mash. So without further ado, we’ll launch into the inundation of announcements and samples coming through this week.

Nile have already ripped through the country but their presence will be reaffirmed on July 20 in the form of their latest album Ithyphallic. Produced by Neil Kernon ( Judas Priest ), Ithyphallic will again cement Nile’s place as one of the world’s most challenging death metal acts. You can check out the latest single at www.nuclearblast.de/events/nile/index.html .

Speaking of new albums, more full-length spinners have dropped in recent days include CandlemassKing of the Grey Islands and Solar Soul from Switzerland’s dark metallers Samael .

If you like your metal with indie-rock atmospherics, then check out Baroness who hail from the backstreets of Georgia, U.S.A. The orbiting quartet have since finished their debut on the Relapse label, Red Album , and have confirmed advanced song titles including ‘The Birthing’, ‘Wanderlust’, ‘Teeth of a Cogwheel’, ‘O’appalachia’ and ‘Grad’. Head to www.myspace.com/yourbaroness for your taste of the licks.

Another newcomer to hit Aussie shores who’re busting for their chance to unleash the aural extremities from new album Genesis is none other than Arizona’s Job For A Cowboy . Tickets hit the streets on June 22 so check these dates into your diaries:

Saturday September 15 – Manning Bar (Sydney; all-ages)
Sunday September 16 – HiFi Bar (Melbourne; 18+)
Monday September 17 – Fowlers (Adelaide; all-ages)
Tuesday September 18 – Amplifier (Perth; 18+)

Need even more new sounds? Experience Sweden’s melodic death up-starts Sonic Syndicate . They’re supporting Megadeth in Germany this month and are already turning heads in the metal media fraternity – a promising surefire winner. Get into the track ‘Aftermath’ at www.myspace.com/sonicsyndicate .

For the math-metal geniuses out there, you need the heads-up from Don Caballero live in Japan. Footage was recorded from the band’s recent show in Shibuya and you can stream the live action from the comfort of your own PC. The band’s Damon Che has recently been compared to the likes of Dave Lombardo and Bill Cobham in terms of ferocity and precision so calculate your own judgement at www2.spaceshowertv.com/DAX/index.php?iflag=1 .

The space-like torrents and synth effects of Minsk can also be experienced at www.singingfool.com as the band debut the first video from new album The Ritual Fires of Abandonment .

If you’re down with the word on the street, you probably don’t need reminding that Municipal Waste ’s new album, The Art of Partying , is already in stores this week and living up to the band’s trademark old school thrash crossover sound. Other discs to hit the streets include S.S.S ’s Short Sharp Shock, Phantom Limb from Pig Destroyer , Man Must Die ’s The Human Condition, Xenosapien from Cephalic Carnage, ESP Live At The Marquee and Painmuseum onslaught in the form of You have The Right To Remain Violent and Metal For Life, all out now through Riot!
