Glastonbury sells out in twohours
Mon 2nd Apr, 2007 in International News
It took less than two hours for music fans around the world to snap up almost 150,000 tickets for this year’s Glastonbury Festival in England’s southwest.
Tickets went on sale at 9am yesterday and before the clock had struck 11, every last ticket had been sold. Organisers have confirmed that any cancelled or returned tickets will be put on sale from April 22 but with over 400,000 would-be festival goers registering, anyone who missed out on Sunday faces even shorter odds in three weeks’ time.
While no official lineup announcement has been released yet, festival director Michael Eavis has let slip that The Killers, Arctic Monkeys and The Who will headline one night each, with Bjork, Arcade Fire and Fatboy Slim also set to appear. Full lineup details will be confirmed in the weeks leading up to the festival, which takes place on June 22-24.
