Red Hot Chili Peppers, Razorlight and The Smashing Pumpkins have been confirmed as the three headliners for this year’s Carling Weekend festivals in Reading and Leeds.
Razorlight will headline the main stage at Reading on Friday August 24, with Kings of Leon, Interpol and Maximo Park. The Friday bill, which will move up north to Leeds for the Saturday, also includes Ash and The Subways on the Radio 1/NME Stage.
The recently reunited Smashing Pumpkins headline the opening night at Leeds, also on the 25th. Nine Inch Nails will play second behind the Pumpkins, with +44 and Fall Out Boy also confirmed. Nu-rave heroes Klaxons will headline the second stage, with LCD Soundsystem and Brazilian band CSS also on the bill. Leeds’ Friday bill will be repeated on Sunday the 26th in Reading.
Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline Reading on August 25, after Arcade Fire, Bloc Party and Angels and Airwaves all perform. On the R1/NME Stage, The View and We Are Scientists will both perform. The same lineup will feature on the final night at Leeds on August 26.
