Wolfmother snatch the Grammyfrom rock legends

Wolfmother have certainly become the ‘little band that could’ with news just in that the threepiece have snatched up the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance from System of a Down, NIN and Tool...

Other Aussie acts in the running for a Grammy this year include guitar maestro Tommy Emmanuel who is vying for the Best Country Instrumental Performance for his medley, Gameshow Rag/Cannonball Rag.

Caboolture boy, Keith Urban, is also up for a nomination for Male Country Vocalist for his hit single Once in a Lifetime. The event will mark Urban’s first major public appearance since his well publicised stint in rehab.

Good to see the underdogs (or should that be underwolves?) win an award. I had a bitchy ex-friend who constantly talked about Tool, Tool, Tool, Tool, and Tool. I had a big sense of relief and a chuckle when a band other than Tool won it. This is way cool.

While I love the genre that NIN and TOOL play I am still happy to see Wolfmother score such an award as it's great for highlighting Australian artists. ...and for the fans, I'll see if I can get a shot of the award when the family return from the Grammie
