Kylie at Glastonbury: "it'sjust not going to happen"

Glastonbury Festival organisers have confirmed that Kylie Minogue will not be performing at next year’s event.

The ex-Neighbours songstress was scheduled to headline the final night of the 2005 festival but was forced to cancel after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was replaced on the bill by Primal Scream and Basement Jaxx and organisers assured fans she would return to the festival.

But Emily Eavis, daughter of festival founder Michael Eavis, has revealed Minogue will not be playing the 2007 festival.

”[Minogue] has got a lot of touring up her sleeve and I think if she was going to do Glastonbury she’d rework her show and I don’t think it’s going to be possible in that time frame,” Eavis said. “It’s just not going to happen.”

Eavis also confirmed that the festival would return from its 2006 hiatus with a strong all-round lineup.

“We’ve got really good stuff coming in,” she said. “But there’s not going to be dominating headliners.”

Tickets for Glastonbury will go on sale early next year but the finalised lineup will not be confirmed until the week of the event.
