Johnny Ramone Champion FightWith Cancer

EOnline reports, founding guitarist of the seminal punk rock group, The Ramones, Johnny Ramone is battling cancer, in a Los Angeles hospital.  Johnny, who was in the group for over 20 years, was diagnosed with prostrate cancer over four years ago, which has now spread to other parts of his body.

Marky Ramone, a recent tourist to our shores, decided to go public with the information after concerned fans bombarded Johnny with queries and well-wishes. 

“John never smoked cigarettes, he wasn’t a heavy drinker, and he was always into his health,” says Marky. “It just proves when cancer seeks a body to penetrate, it doesn’t matter how healthy you are or how unhealthy you are. It just seeps in, and there’s nothing you can do.”

Johnny is the third Ramone to succumb to a disease, with Joey Ramone losing his battle with lymphatic cancer in April 2001 and Dee Dee overdosing on heroin in 2002.
