Keith Urban enters rehab

Singer songrwriter Keith Urban voluntarily admitted himself into a rehab centre last night, wife Nicole Kidman was by his side. The singers’ battle with substance abuse has put an end to a planned Australian promotional tour scheduled for this week..

In a statement released by Urban’s record label, EMI, Urban had the following to say:

“I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me. One can never let ones guard down on recovery and I’m afraid that I have. With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome.”

As a result of his treatment, all immediate appearances for his forthcoming CD will be postponed.
