The winner of the coveted lead singer possie in new supergroup Supernova has been announced. Canadian Lukas Rossi has skipped away with the crown.

Melbourne local, Toby Rand made it to the final three, but was pipped at the post by grunge queen Dilana and pseudo emo/goth rocker Lukas.

It’s not all bad news for the local boy, howoever, Rand has been offered a recording deal for his efforts. While Gilby Clark has offered to produce and write for Dilana’s upcoming release.

Rossi will join Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted and Gilby Clarke in Supernova, although the band my now be forced to change their name after a California judge ruled against them in a court case yesterday – siding with another band’s claim of naming rights to Supernova.

Currently the supergroup ‘Supernova’ are banned from performing rock and roll music, or recording, or selling rock and roll music recordings under the same [name], pending a trial of this action on its merits, or until otherwise ordered by the court.
