The nominees for this year’s MOBO (Music of Black Origin) awards have been announced, with Gnarls Barkley and The Streets (yes you head right) leading the charge.
The aforementioned artists will be battling it out against Outkast for supremacy as Best Band. Other acts in the running for awards include Beyonce (4 noms), Corrine Bailey Rae (three nominations) and Kano (also three noms).
UK hip-hop and R&B artists were well represented in the nominations with nods to Plan B, Jamelia, Beverly Knight and Mercury Music Prize contender Sway.
This year’s MOBO Awards will be held at the Royal Albert Hall on September 20.
