Stooges Gearing Up For FourthAlbum And Tour
Thu 20th Apr, 2006 in International News
Iggy Pop has been holed up in “a little cottage in the boonies” with the other members of the Stooges; Ron and Scott Asheton and Mike Watt, writing material for a new album which is due to be released on the Virgin record label in 2007. This will be the first Stooges album since the legendary “Raw Power” release in 1973.
The album is being produced by Steve Albini (ex Big Black and has worked in the studio with the likes of The Pixies and Nirvana) with some tracks also being produced by Jack White (The White Stripes).
The Stooges are also planning to embark on their first full blown tour since they reformed for the Coachella festival in 2003. Since then they have focussed on playing the festival circuit, which brought them to Australia/NZ as part of the Big Day Out in 2006.
