Although Damon Albarn seems to have had his hands full with a bevy of hot new projects of late, most significant of course being the Gorillaz and work on Fatboy Slim’s ‘Palookaville’, he’s managed to find the time to hook up with longtime studio partners Alex James and Dave Rownree to get work started on a hot new Blur record.

In a recent interview with UK radio station XFM, Blur bassist Alex James confirmed that the band have regrouped to work on a ‘dirty, nasty, filthy’ new album. The new album will be the first since 2003’s ‘Think Tank’ and is tagged by James to be a noisier and more aggressive version of Blur than we’ve ever seen on record before. The band started work on the project just prior to Christmas 2005 and have made plans to go back in the studio later this year to complete the project. “The Foo Fighters are gonna wet their pants when they hear it,” James remarked.

Stay tuned to FL for further updates on this new Blur development.
