Is Jimi Hendrix’s life and death is set to be the next rock & roll tell-all biography pic to hit the big screen? Music and film producer Elle Von Lear, a lifelong friend of the Hendrix family, has just had a victory with Hendrix’s estate, winning the rights to use the Hendrix name and face to make the truth-baring biopic on the life and death of the seminal guitarist.

The first person on Von Lear’s mind to take on the challenging role of the late rocker was of course Lenny Kravitz. “Our goal is to do a proper feature film that finally tells the whole story of Jimi’s life and death. It will be heavily music-driven, with all those great Hnedriz original recordings,” Von Lear claimed following the victory.
