In what has to be the most exciting international festival news of late, one of America’s finest outdoor music experiences is set to return, as the festival’s co-founder Perry Farrell announced last Thursday. With the first billing looking mighty fine as it is, it’s no wonder tickets are already being snapped up by punters worldwide planning to make the trek for one of the hottest festivals of the American summer.The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West and Wilco lead the line up for the August 4-6 event. Joining them at Chicago’s Grant Park site, will be Common, Sonic Youth, The Flaming Lips, Ryan Adams, Manu Chao, QOTSA, The Shins, Death Cab For Cutie, Sleater Kinney, Broken Social Scene, Nada Surf, Secret Machines, Sparta, our own Wolfmother, The Thievery Corporation, Eels, The Frames, Matisyahu, Ween and Jack White’s newest project The Raconteurs.Tickets for the event are already on sale and are expected to sell their annual full-capacity amount of 30, 000 tickets.
