The Polyphonic Spree GetsFragile
Thu 9th Feb, 2006 in International News
The Polyphonic Spree are using the internet to keep fans updated on the progress of impending third album The Fragile Army.
The band entered the studio in January to commence work on the follow-up to 2004’s Together We’re Heavy. Group choir member (and wife of frontman Tim DeLaughter) Julie Doyle has been regularly updating blog site www.thefragilearmy.com with details of songs, studio sessions and exclusive photos.
The title of the album came from Thumbsucker film director Mike Mills, who christened the band with the name following DeLaughter’s work scoring the Thumbsucker soundtrack.
The Fragile Army is set to be released in the US on July 3 (subject to change). No local release date has been touted yet.
Following the group’s successful 2005 Big Day Out appearances, local fans can keep fingers crossed for a return tour.
