Blur announces UK tour
Mon 14th May, 2012 in International News
Damon Albarn has been in the news a fair bit this year with the release his Dr Dee musical and the debut album from his new supergroup Rocket Juice and The Moon. However most of the digital ink spilled for Albarn recently has been reporting on the ever changing status of his two biggest bands – Blur and Gorillaz – with the uncertainly over their future resulting in a series of near daily updates alerting us to his current state of affairs. It really is a brilliantly easy way to get news coverage.
So basically there’s a chance that Blur’s concert in Hyde Park this August, with support from New Order and The Specials, could be the band’s swansong. Or then again maybe it won’t.
Anyway, Blur have now announced a quick run of warm up shows in preparation for their Olympic show. They could be among their ever shows; or then again maybe they won’t. Either way they make us wish we were heading to England in August.
Blur warm-up shows:
Wednesday 1st August – Margate Winter Gardens
Sunday 5th August – Wolverhampton Civic Hall
Monday 6th August – Wolverhampton Civic Hall
Tuesday 7th August – Plymouth Pavilions
