Grammy Award winners for 2012

The 2012 Grammy Award presentation is likely to be one of the few awards ceremonies that doesn’t feature Gotye this year, but there was still a chance for an Australian win to take some of the attention away from Skrillex, Adele and the Whitney Houston tributes.

Without Gotye in the running, Cut Copy were the flag bearers for Australia but were up against some big name competition for the Best Dance/Electronica Album award battling Deadmau5, David Guetta, Robyn and Skrillex for the prize. Sadly Skrillex took the award – denying the Cutters crew the chance to cash in by releasing a line of ‘Who the hell are Cut Copy?’ t-shirts.

Bon Iver won the Best Alternative Music Album ahead of records from Death Cab for Cutie, Foster the People, My Morning Jacket and Radiohead.
