Slipknot and Limp Bizkitcollaborate
Tue 7th Feb, 2012 in International News
The days of the Limp Bizkit and Slipknot feud may be officially over but nothing could have prepared us for the news that members of the two Soundwave headlining acts would team up over a shared love of Portishead.
Slipknot and Stone Sour lead guitarist Jim Root and Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers are neighbours in Florida and recently met up to speak about collaborating on a “weird kind of electronica” side-project.
Rivers has been writing what Root calls “a lot of like weird kind of electronica kind of music that’s, you know, kinda aerial and spacey… [with a] kind of a weird kind of Portishead vibe to it” and as a huge Portishead fan Root thinks that a working with Rivers on his new project could be a fine idea. “Why not?,” Root recently asked backstageaxxess. “I don’t have enough projects going on, why not add another one.”
