More bands for DownloadFestival 2012

England’s Download Festival has announced even more bands on its epic 2012 lineup.
Bringing the rawk to Donnignton this European summer will be Biffy Clyro, Soundgarden, Chase and Status, You Me At Six and Tenacious D, who join The Prodigy, Black Sabbath and Metallica – all previously confirmed as headliners.

Luckily Metallica fans will be spared any Death Magnetic or Lulu material, as the band is set to perform their 1991 ‘Black Album’ in its entirety.

Reviewing last year’s Download Festival – headlined by Alice Cooper, System Of A Down and Linkin Park – FL noted, “Nothing can quite prepare one for the sight of that many metal fans wandering around the kind of countryside usually featured in an episode of Heartbeat.” You can read our full account of the Download experience here.

A three day festival in the UK with a capacity of over 100,000 people has more big bands on the lineup than a single day festival in Australia with a much lower capacity. Crazy talk!

who are you to speak for all metallica fans? the death magnetic album is by far their best since the black album.

i concur with the comment about the other album. i would be surprised if it sold 10,000 copies.
