New Bloc Party album this year
Thu 5th Jan, 2012 in International News
In some welcome news Bloc Party confirmed yesterday that they will definitely be releasing a new album in 2012, with lead singer Kele Okereke telling Radio 1’s Zane Lowe that: “’It feels like the record that we’re making doesn’t sound like anyone else on the planet – that’s a really good feeling.”
The news comes only months after Okereke jokingly told the NME that he had been fired from the band, inciting speculative Bloc Party break-up stories the world over.
The new record will be the first since 2008’s Intimacy which was received to mixed reviews and about which FL wrote: “The album is more erratic in theme than A Weekend In the City, one moment mourning a death and the next breaking up or falling in love.”
