Qantas puts Kings Of Leon tourin jeopardy

Kings Of Leon drummer Nathan Followil took to twitter last night (along with the rest of Australia) to slam Qantas, after the band’s South African and Australian shows were put in jeopardy following the airlines controversial decision to ground its planes on the weekend.

Due to kick off their seven date tour of Oz on November 4th, the band has been forced to find an alternative airline to get them to our shores. Followil tweeted last night “Dear Qantas, u suck, thanks 4 fucking up my trip 2 Oz. Joberg-Dubai-Sydney. 24 hours in the air. That’s how much I love Oz.”

Unlike many stranded Qantas passengers Kings Of Leon have managed to reschedule flights and, it seems, will make it to Australia just in the nick of time.

This is not the first time a Kings Of Leon show has been under threat due to a winged creature/object behaving badly, in mid 2010 the band walked off stage in St Louis after an infestation of pigeons began “shitting in Jared’s mouth”.

News that Qantas have been ordered by Fair Work Australia to resume flights (possibly as early as 2pm this afternoon) will no doubt come as a huge relief to any promoters who spent the weekend scrambling to reschedule flights for other bands due in Oz this month.
