Ke$ha covers Bob Dylan
Thu 20th Oct, 2011 in International News
Pop tart Ke$ha is set to release a cover of Bob Dylan’s 1963 classic Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right. So do we start calling him Bob D¥lan now?
This human rights violation is part of a new Amnesty International compilation, Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International, which will also include My Morning Jacket’s take on You’re a Big Girl Now, Make You Feel My Love by Adele, Tryin’ to Get to Heaven by Lucinda Williams, Mr. Tambourine Man by Jack’s Mannequin, and Drifter’s Escape by Patti Smith.
The covers that Rise Against and Bad Religion announced back in June and tracks from Dave Matthews Band, Sting and Glee star Darren Criss will also be included on the tracklist.
This won’t be the first time that Ke$ha has taken on a rock legend in 2011. She staked her place on the list of the year’s strangest collaborations by duetting with shock rocker Alice Cooper on the track What Baby Wants, leading Cooper to claim that the pop stars really “wants to be Robert Plant”.
If you can bear it, watch Ke$ha interviewing herself for Rolling Stone and claiming that Dylan’s Nashville Skyline is her all time favourite record.
