Listen: Massive Attack vsBurial
Tue 11th Oct, 2011 in International News
Musical alliances don’t come much more intriguing than spectral bass innovator Burial and iconic collective Massive Attack. The producers have come together on Four Walls, a sprawling 12-minute slow-burner that you can listen to in full below.
Four Walls has been packaged on a new limited edition 12-inch available from the Massive Attack website. As the press release that popped into the inthemix inbox this morning reads, the record is “pressed on heavyweight vinyl and housed in a stunning gold glitter screenprinted sleeve designed by Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja and crafted by The Vinyl Factory.” The release is limited to 1,000 copies.
Also included is a Burial remix of Massive Attack’s Paradise Circus from its 2010 LP Heligoland, which clocks in over the 11-minute mark as well. The production hallmarks of both acts come together in just the kind of atmospheric, expansive meeting-of-minds you’d expect – which is no bad thing. We’re digging to find a stream of the Paradise Circus remix online, but in the meantime you’ll have to busy yourself with finding a worthy soundsystem for Four Walls.
