Ozzy: Black Sabbath is in“the very early stages”
Sun 9th Oct, 2011 in International News
There have been almost as many rumours about a Black Sabbath reunion as there were rumours about the Soundwave 2012 lineup and now here’s another for you. Guess we might as well start the Soundwave 2013 rumour file with a bang.
During an interview to promote his new book Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy, Ozzy Osbourne has given metal fans hope by telling Billboard that the reunion is happening, but he stopped short of making an official announcement. According to Ozzy, a Black Sabbath reunion “is a very, very strong possibility. It’s in the very early stages, so we haven’t recorded anything yet. If it works out, it’ll work out. If it doesn’t, I’ll keep doing my thing.”
This isn’t the only promising news we’ve had from a Sabbath member in recent months. In August internet lit up with the news that Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi had told an English newspaper that “We’re really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we’ve been writing is really good. It’s more back to the old original stuff… ‘It’s all been very hush-hush. Ozzy’s been the worst at trying to hold it back.” Iommi quickly backtracked on that statement with a post on his official website which refuted the claims of an official reunion as “absolute nonsense”, but it looks as though some an official statement can’t be too far away.
