LOOKING FOR RADIOHEAD’S 2012 AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES? – LOOK HERE
Earlier this week the rumour that Radiohead would be headlining Coachella appeared and now Thom Yorke has revealed that the band will indeed be hitting the road next year in support of The King of Limbs.
“The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year,” Yorke told Gilles Peterson on BBC Radio. “It feels like a good idea now that we figured out how to play it to go and do it in front of people for a bit.” Yorke also hinted that Portishead’s Clive Dreamer, who served as the band’s second drummer during the band’s recent ‘surprise’ set at Glastonbury, will also appear on the upcoming tour.
Yorke continued his run of exciting announcements by revealing that Atoms For Peace – the supergroup featuring Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, producer Nigel Godirch, drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco – have recorded an album, which is currently being finished by Godirch. “It was initially for fun to play all the Eraser stuff, but it sparked something off,” the Radiohead frontman explained. “So we ended up at the end of that getting into the studio and generating some new beats.”
