Kele kicked out of Bloc Party?Truth or NME beat up?

Update: It was total bullshit
Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke is stressing about his future in the band after he saw the rest of the group – guitarist Russell Lissack, bassist Gordon Moakes and drummer Matt Tong – sneaking into a rehearsal studio in New York without even inviting him to join them. Or at least that’s what the NME claims.
Rather than call up his band mates to ask about the situation, Kele apparently took his grievances directly to NME and told the magazine that: “I was actually having lunch about three weeks ago, just here on 8th Avenue and I saw somebody walk past and I recognised the haircut. It was Russell. I was like, ‘Hey!’ but he didn’t see me and I followed him around the corner and then I saw Matt, Gordon and Russell all standing outside this rehearsal space. They all went inside… I hope I haven’t been fired. I don’t really know what’s going on, because we haven’t really spoken recently and I’m a bit too scared to ask.”
However a photo published on Kele’s blog in late August (the time that this sneaky band behaviour allegedly happened) shows that the band has been hanging out together in New York, which just makes his comment seem very strange indeed.
So either Kele has been kicked out of the band, or he has lost the plot and become strangely parinoid or NME is beating up a story and taking him out of context. Guess which one’s the more likely answer.
In other Bloc Party related news Kele has a new EP The Hunter due out on the 28th of October and Russell Lissack is heading to Australia in October for a run of DJ sets.
