Bob Dylan’s grandsonreleases rap mixtape

Bob Dylan’s 15-year-old grandson, Pablo Dylan has just released his debut hip hop mix tape, 10 Minutes, for free.

On the lead track Top Of The World Pablo, raps “I’m the grandson of a man nothing less than legendary/that’s a lot of pressure so I Berry Gordy/I am very Motown/bitch, I’ma get that crown/while I’m at it, I might reinvent sound.” The track also features Darnell Robinson, grandson of CEO/Founder of Sugar Hill Records Slyvia Robinson.

Pablo recently spoke to AllHipHop.com about his grandfather’s legacy telling the website that he considers Bob to be “the Jay-Z of his time, and he definitely has a legacy that a lot of people look up to.”

“He feels strongly about my music and I love him to death, ” Pablo explained, “we do two different things, and I don’t want people to see me for what he has done. But, what I have done, I mean from a musical and personal standpoint, is definitely influenced by him… Everyone around me influences me, and I have learned so much from him just listening to his records, but I hope his music continues to live on through what I continue to do the rest of my life.”

In his autobiography Chronicles, Volume 1, Bob Dylan confessed to a love of Run-D.M.C., Public Enemy, Ice T and N.W.A., writing that “These guys weren’t standing around bullshitting,” said Dylan. “They were beating drums, tearing it up, hurling horses over cliffs. They were all poets and knew what was going on” Dylan has also spun several hip hop tunes on his Theme Time Radio Hour and even cut a guest intro to Kurtis Blow’s 1987 single Street Rock.
