Weezer hits the high seas
Wed 13th Jul, 2011 in International News
Tired of waiting for Weezer to tour Australia? Maybe you should grab a ticket for the ‘Weezer Cruise’ that hits the high seas between Miami to Mexico from January 19-23rd next year.
The cruise/floating festival will feature sets from Weezer on the pool deck as the cruise departs and in the ship’s indoor theatre, plus shows from Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, Gene Ween, Yuck, Wavves, The Antlers, Free Energy, Sleeper Agent, Boom Bip, solo sets from J. Mascis and Lou Barlow and more and more.
The sailing dates mean that Weezer (and the rest of the lineup) can’t play at Big Day Out in 2011, but given that they’ll be playing Holiday while on holiday, Across the Sea on the sea and Island in the Sun on an actual island in the sun we (almost) forgive them for skipping the BDO tour.
Prices for the cruise start at $US799 per person for a double cabin. While groups of four will be able to attend for $US599 each.
