Weezer, MMJ and more on newMuppets album

The upcoming Muppets movie, which will feature cameos from Dave Grohl, Ricky Gervais, Jack Black, and Lady Gaga will be accompanied by a soundtrack of classic Muppet hits performed bands including OK Go, Alkaline Trio and My Morning Jacket.

Muppets: The Green Album is due out in late August ans also includes two duets – one between Atreyu’s Brandon Saller and Good Charlotte’s Billy Martin and the other featuring Weezer with Paramore’s Hayley Williams.

While confusing tracklist for the record proves that it really is the perfect gift for the one person in the world who’s a massive fan of The Muppets, Evanescence and Andrew Bird, the album does include a track from the abandoned My Morning Jacket project which Rolling Stone claimed would have seen the band recording music for a “Gorillaz-style tour where MMJ would play behind a curtain while Muppet holograms bashed away onstage”.
