James Bond wants Kings of Leonfor theme song

Kings of Leon are being courted by 007 Daniel Craig to write the theme for the upcoming, as yet untitled, 23rd James Bond film.

During a Twitter chat, drummer Nathan Followill told cinema chain Vue that “Daniel Craig has asked me before. I have turned him down three times already but maybe.” His brother, lead singer Caleb, added: “I’ve always wanted to work with strings so that would be a good excuse to do it.”

However, the gig of following Jack White as the author of a Bond theme song is not a certain bet for the band, with The Sun reporting in May that the producers were keen to book Lady Gaga for the job. According to one on The Sun’s endless supply of un-named sources: “The Bond bosses are all huge Gaga fans. Her sound and sense of drama make her the top choice. Gaga has the look as well as the voice to tackle a thundering ballad. She’s a great songwriter too.”
