Radiohead's 'The King OfLimbs' to be remixed by FlyingLotus?

Mutual admirers and sometime collaborators Flying Lotus and Radiohead might be on another creative collision course if speculation is to be believed, with word out today saying that FlyLo could be remixing the entirety of The King Of Limbs.

As reported by Pitchfork, the hype around this news originally swirled out of an interview with Flying Lotus in which the avant garde LA beatmaker revealed he was at work on remixing “the new Radiohead record”.

“They wanted me to remix the new Radiohead record, and I’ve been trying to mess with that a little bit. But I haven’t gotten to it yet,” he said before going on to explain that he was currently stumped as to which direction the project might take. “It’s too early to say, man. I have no fucking clue. It’s difficult to work with, because the pieces that they gave me, there’s no real a cappella. It’s like piano and voice at the same time… So I have to come up with some shit that’s a little similar to the record, I guess, to an extent.”

this is exciting!
when he claims he couldn't get an a cappella version, surely the record company would have a copy of the original mix and should be able to get it for him if it's going to be an approved, official remix album. is it any more complex than i'm imagining?

When I read that I assumed they recorded the piano and vocals simultaneously, and there was bleed between the two. I don't see how else it could be an issue.

Looks like the remix might just be one track - NME says that Radiohead will release a series of 12" vinyl records featuring remixes of tracks from 'The King Of Limbs'. The first record will feature mixes of 'Little By Little' by Caribou and 'Lotus Flower' by Jacques Green. Out July 4.

I'm not a Radiohead fan, but if they could get remixes by Four-Tet, Burial, Caribou and Flying Lotus that would be fairly awesome.

Chuck an Apparat remix in there for good measure too and I'd be listening.
