Australian punter pays $10,000for Led Zeppelin t-shirt

You might complain that Splendour is expensive, but the festival is a steal compared to a rare $10,000 Led Zeppelin t-shirt.

According to Blabbermouth the shirt was sold by vintage t-shirt business Stormcrow Vintage on eBay. They purchased it for $123 U.S. from the family who ran the screen printing shop that printed the original shirts in limited quantity as backstage passes for one of the band’s historic 1979 Knebworth House concerts..

“At the time, I thought I may have overpaid,” says seller Kyle Ermatinger, “[but] I got back home, looked it up online and noticed it was ranked #1 as the rarest Zeppelin t-shirt. When I got the sale notification, my jaw hit the floor. Given this shirt may be one of the only ones in existence, the price tag is completely justifiable. It’s a rock relic, beyond rare. Admittedly, I still frequently pinch myself.”

Nothing is known about the new owner of the t-shirt other than the fact that he lives in Australia and has way too much money.
