‘The Killer’ Jerry Lee Lewis will perform a special one-off gig on Record Store Day – Saturday 16th April – at Jack White’s Third Man Records in Nashville.
The show will be recorded direct to analog tape, with Jack White at the mixing desk, and will be released within weeks of the session.
Jerry Lee will be joined by an appropriately killer band featuring guitarist Steve Cropper (Stax), drummer Jim Keltner (Bob Dylan, Neil Young) and bassist Jack Lawrence (Greenhornes, The Dead Weather).
The Third Man record store will also be releasing four new vinyl offerings for Record Store Day – reissues of the White Stripes first two releases from 1998, a cover of Lou Reed’s Vicious by Karen Elson, and lead single from the Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi collaboration Rome, featuring vocals from Jack White and Norah Jones
In the lead up to these releases and the Jerry Lee show, Third Man will play host to Jack White’s “favorite rapper/producer from Detroit, Black Milk ” who will record a single this Friday 8th April with Jack White co-producing.
